Our heritage is rich and deeply rooted in tradition. Every day, we uncover more about our remarkable past, stories that have shaped the company we are today.

Our Journey

The journey of Manor Farm began over 250 years ago in the Dublin Markets, where the Carton family sold chickens brought in from farms across the country.

As the business expanded, live chickens were even transported by train, marked for the Carton family, before being sold, with payments sent back to farmers.

Manor Street

As demand grew, the family acquired land on Manor Street, which became known as Manor Farm, the name that has stood the test of time.

Spring Chicken

Manor Farm has played a pivotal role in shaping how chicken is enjoyed in Ireland.

In 1956, we introduced the concept of spring chicken being available all year round, helping it become a staple of mealtimes across the country.

Scandi Standard

In 2017, we joined the Scandi Standard group. This partnership has allowed us to combine our deep industry expertise with innovation and cutting-edge technology, expanding our facilities and strengthening our commitment to sustainability.

Our People

At Manor Farm, our strength lies in our people, our history, and our commitment to the future. We take immense pride in what we do, whether it’s producing quality food, supporting our communities, or leading the way in sustainability.

But above all, we are a company built on relationships between our employees, our farmers & suppliers, our customers and the generations who have made Manor Farm what it is today.

Step Into Our Story. Visit Our Garden at Bloom

As we mark 250 years of Manor Farm, we’re excited to bring something truly special to this year’s Bloom festival, a garden that celebrates where we’ve come from, who we are and where we’re going, designed by Tünde Perry.

The Concept

Our Garden for Bloom is more than just beautiful planting, it’s a reflection of Manor Farm’s heritage of tradition, innovation and care for the environment. Thoughtfully designed, the garden invites visitors to journey through our story.

You’ll enter along a train track-inspired path, crafted from recycled railway sleepers and gravel, symbolising the journey from rural Ireland to the heart of Dublin. On either side, you’ll experience a rich Irish landscape: an authentic wildflower meadow, native trees and shrubs, and a regenerative oat and wheat field, a nod to our farming roots and sustainable future.

To honour our home in Cavan, the garden features a water element, reflecting the county’s famous 365 lakes. Gently flowing and calming, the water mirrors our connection to Cavan and the importance of nature in everything we do.

At the heart lies ‘Manor Street’, a clever and creative sculpture made from copper and metal rods. It captures the look of an urban street while tying together the entire garden. Visitors can pause here at a small café-style table, the perfect spot for a quiet cup of tea, a chat, or simply taking it all in.

This biodiverse, sensory-rich garden features native species like hazel, hawthorn, elder and birch, interwoven with herbs and fragrant plants to bring taste and scent into the experience. The garden’s planting will include a thoughtful mix of blues and yellows, a subtle and beautiful tribute to our Swedish ownership. With three different viewing angles, the garden invites exploration, reflection, and inspiration.
