Fintan Magee was born and raised in Inniskeen, Dundalk, Co. Louth. He is married to Majella and lives on their 80 acre farm together with their 3 children: Órla, Cormac and Conor. Fintan began farming after returning from College in 1990 and as well as raising chickens he also is involved in beef farming. A typical day for Fintan begins early in the morning when he checks the chicks, and runs the feed-lines. Then it’s out to check cattle and fodder after which he attends to other general farm jobs. Fintan again checks on the chickens around noon and will correct feed and water line heights where necessary. The meal storage will be checked and he will reorder where necessary. Fintan then attends to other farm routines. He checks the chicken house routines again in the afternoon. He checks the chicken’s twice more and last thing at night as well as checking on other stock in late evening. Outside of farming Fintan enjoys researching and looking at various machinery and attend shows such as the ploughing match where machinery is on display. His favourite sport is football and he follows the local team and Co. Monaghan, his native county. Fintan also enjoys rugby and follows Munster and Ireland.
