Halston Street would come alive each Christmas due to the Cartons live Turkey Markets. Cars would queue from 5am on cold December mornings, with ordinary households arriving with their homegrown turkeys in their boots and trailers for auction!
Trinity College and UCD would provide Cartons with students to assist them in the buying and selling of Christmas Turkeys. These auctions were managed by no other than TP Carton – the previous CEO of the company!
